diagnostic assessments

specialized diagnostic assessment for OCD

OCD can be complex and is frequently misdiagnosed. getting an accurate diagnosis is a critical first step toward real relief. we offer evidence-based diagnostic assessment specifically designed to clarify whether your symptoms reflect Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), related anxiety conditions, or other concerns.

OCD can present in so many different ways, often involving hidden mental rituals, intrusive thoughts, shame, and more. a standard intake isn't always enough to get the full picture. to ensure you receive total diagnostic clarity, we offer a dedicated comprehensive OCD assessment package including a roadmap to recovery.

what’s included in the comprehensive assessment package:

  • 3 hours of direct clinical assessment

  • integration of real-world self-monitoring data

  • written diagnostic report and treatment plan

thorough, individualized assessment

step 1: comprehensive clinical interview

a deep dive into your history, symptom patterns, and primary triggers using gold-standard diagnostic tools (including the Y-BOCS). the initial interview appointment is 2 hours.

step 2: real-world tracking

personalized self-monitoring assignment between visits to capture intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and avoidance in your daily environment.

step 3: feedback & strategy session

a follow-up session where we will review your tracking data, go over the formal diagnostic findings, discuss what they mean, and outline targeted treatment recommendations (such as ERP framework goals). the feedback & strategy session is 1 hour.

OCD commonly co-occurs with several other mental health disorders. without a thorough, nuanced assessment by an expert, it's easy to treat a secondary symptom while the root cause remains unaddressed.

comprehensive assessment may include additional measures of co-occurring conditions, if clinically appropriate, such as PTSD, eating disorders, generalized anxiety, phobias, and more.

note that a targeted OCD assessment is not the same as a full neuropsychological assessment, so we cannot provide an ASD or ADHD diagnostic with certainty.

diagnostic clarity

following our assessment, you will receive a formal written diagnostic summary. this includes:

  • your diagnoses and target symptoms

  • baseline severity scores

  • notes on other potential diagnoses

  • personalized treatment recommendations.

whether you choose to continue therapy with me or take the report to another provider, your written report will allow for targeted treatment from day 1.
